Cameras

I am currently using a Nikon Coolpix 5000. This has a fish-eye FC - E8 (0.21x ) converter lens fitted using the UR - E6 mounting tube.

All of the camera kit was purchased from E-Bay. Quite simply until I knew I could get on with the whole thing  and saw that I was getting results as well, I tried to keep the costs down. Dangling expensive bits of camera gear from a great height on a piece of string is not for the faint hearted.

The choice of camera gear came about by considering the lens first and then working backwards. Fish-eye lens are not cheap but converter lens are cheap-er. If you then decide on digital as opposed to film for convenience sake on  how the pictures are taken, then you find the field reducing rapidly. The weight of the camera and lens are also to be considered as are any other pieces of equipment that may be needed not forgetting the actual rig to support all this aloft.
