Trip to Pontcysyllte Aquaduct and Anderton Boat Lift was aborted. Majority of UK in the middle of a huge high pressure col. Wind conditions light and variable. Must get a fair weather kite. Becoming impatient to get some spectacular shots as my confidence grows flying the kite with payload.

Managed to use radiation and orographic effect in the morning to get kite airborne but could only manage to lift the camera gear. As the sun rose the effect became more pronounced. Then disaster struck and the wind dropped suddenly and yes, I’ve damaged my fish-eye lens. The rest of the gear is OK. I’m going to have to invest in a light wind kite. E-Bay here we come for a new lens...... ouch!!!!

My Mindstorms Lego has arrived. This means I can now start to plan putting something together for doing 360 degree panoramas with a little more accuracy and also use it for putting a camera up a pole.

Jackie and I decided to go to Pontcysyllte, this is our third trip in the recent fine weather. Having checked the wind direction and speed on the BBC Wales web site, I decided it was on for an attempt. It was only just, by the time we got there the wind was strong enough but it died as the afternoon progressed. Result in the Gallery.
